Both face to face and telehealth video appointments are available for the same fee.

Fees are due on the day of your appointment via credit card with rebates processed at the same time if eligible. Client’s credit card details are stored using an encrypted system to protect your information. Fees will be processed if you attend your appointment, or in line with the cancellation policy.

Medicare rebates

With a valid referral and mental health treatment plan from a GP or a psychiatrist, you are eligible for a medicare rebate of $98.95 per standard session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Eligible referrals must have the following details:

  • Client’s name, date of birth and address

  • Diagnosis or symptoms

  • Date of referral

  • Be dated prior to the day of appointment

  • Referring practitioner’s name, provider number and signature

  • A request for services under Better Access and if client has a mental health treatment plan

Private Health Insurance

You may be able to access a rebate if you have private health cover. This can vary depending on the health care provider and your level of cover. You will have to enquire with your provider whether you are eligible or not.

Private health rebate can not be used in addition to the medicare rebate, as only one rebate is available per session.

Recommended rates

The Australian Psychological Society recommends a rate of $300 per 50-minute session. Sessions are charged below this rate to be more affordable.

Rescheduling and cancelling appointments

If you need to reschedule/cancel a scheduled appointment please provide more than 48 hours notice to avoid incurring the cancellation fee.

Changes to scheduled appointments can be made via the client portal or via email to reception@solarapsychology.com.au

Cancellation Policy

The cancellation fee applies to appointments rescheduled or cancelled within a 48 hour period of your scheduled appointment.

  • When 25-48 hours notice if given, a 50% fee will be charged

  • Full session fees are charged if you give 24 hours or less notice for non-attendances, cancellations and rescheduling appointments

Medicare rebates are not available for cancellation fees.
